To my thunderous son

· dialog-with-the-universe

Ahab, your rage consumes the sea,
A storm that tears the heavens apart.
The wraith you chase, a hollow prize,
A mirror held to your burning heart.

You rail against the endless tides,
As though the ocean bends to man.
You wail and thrash, with broken cry,
Lost in the depths of all you’ve damned.

Ahab, Ahab, my thunderous son,
Alight again on the wondrous shore.
Let go the storm, the fight is done,
And let your soul find peace once more.

The stars still sing, the night is kind,
The waves will carry what you’ve lost.
Come home, beyond the restless sea,
Where grace is full and bears no cost.
